Release Notes reqSuite® rm 4.6

With this latest update, reqSuite® rm becomes even smarter, more automated, and user-friendly.

The main highlights include enhancements to the Rule Engine and new AI features that reduce repetitive work, improve data quality, and accelerate decision-making in daily project work.

Version 4.6 will be released on July 27, 2025.

Rule Engine: More Dynamics, More Flexibility

Automation Triggered by Changes

The new onChange trigger allows previously defined rules to execute automatically whenever specific data is changed, for example, when elements are created or edited. This reduces the risk of important rules being overlooked or requiring manual activation. As a result, data quality and consistency are reliably ensured during ongoing work.

Variables for Dynamic Content

Instead of fixed values, Rule Actions can now use variables that reference attributes from the focused element or linked elements. This makes it possible to dynamically fill fields. For example, automatically generating a list of all linked requirements. This is especially useful for visualizing dependencies and relationships across multiple levels at a glance.

Targeted Use Through Filters

New filter options allow variables to be applied even more precisely. For example, you can include only validated requirements in an automatically generated list. This enables more accurate rules that affect only relevant data, another step toward automation without losing control.

AI Variable for Assisted Classification and Text Generation

The new AI variable in Rule Actions goes well beyond traditional rule logic. Based on existing content, it can independently generate short descriptions or classify elements according to natural-language prompts. For instance, customer requirements can be automatically evaluated, standardized, or structured before being reviewed manually. The combination of rule-based logic and machine assistance creates noticeable efficiency gains, especially for large or unstructured datasets.

AI Chat Bot (beta): An Intelligent Companion for Your Project

A new interactive assistant has been added to reqSuite® rm in the form of the AI Chatbot, which operates directly within the project context.

It can answer questions in natural language. For example, identifying contradictions in stakeholder requirements or explaining the impact of certain changes.

It also supports content refinement (e.g., “Simplify the description of Use Case 23”) or content creation (e.g., “Generate test cases for all requirements that don’t have one yet”).

The chatbot is currently in beta and continues to be developed. But even now, it unlocks new ways of dialog-based interaction with project content.*

Word Command Generator: Export Commands Made Easy

Creating Word export commands is now much easier with the new AI-powered command generator.

Instead of manually writing a syntactically correct command, users can now simply describe what they need in natural language, such as: “Export all system requirements with their attributes Name, Description, and Status, sorted by name, along with their linked test cases.”

The AI automatically converts the input into the correct export syntax. This greatly simplifies the process, especially for beginners, and saves time when working with complex export templates.

Additional Improvements at a Glance

  • API Backups Without Time Restrictions
Backups via API are now possible at any time. When simultaneous requests are made, they are queued automatically to ensure system stability.
  • Enhanced Word Importer
The Word importer now reliably supports complex tables with mixed formatting, such as partially merged cells. Combined with existing support for text, images, and lists, this makes document import much more robust.

Deprecated Default Features: Now Replaceable with Rules

Two default automations have been removed because they can now be flexibly replaced using custom rules in the Rule Engine:

  1. The automatic creation and linking of elements in a 1:1 relationship.
  2. Automatically setting a status when all derived elements share the same status.

This change allows precise adaptation to specific project requirements.

Faster. Smarter. More Focused on What Matters.

This release makes reqSuite® rm even more intelligent and automated. The enhanced Rule Engine enables dynamic data processing, AI-supported classification, and automatic text generation, all within the project itself. The AI Chatbot introduces a new level of interaction, while the Word Command Generator makes working with exports significantly easier.

More information about the new features is available on our training platform and in the official user manual.

If you have any questions, your dedicated contact person will be happy to assist. Alternatively, join one of our open Q&A sessions every Monday and Wednesday to learn more about the new features through direct interaction.
