More Control, Better Integration, and More Flexible Data Exchange
reqSuite® rm 4.9 makes requirements management even more flexible and efficient. The new release provides greater control over requirements reuse, improves integration with Azure DevOps, and expands the options for managing file attachments and automating data exchange.
Version 4.9 will be released on November 1, 2026.
More Control Over Requirements Reuse
Not every change to a reused requirement should automatically be applied across all projects.
With reqSuite® rm 4.9, users can now decide exactly how changes to referenced items should be handled:
- Apply change: The update is applied directly.
- Ignore change: The specific change is not applied.
- Ignore future changes: You will no longer be notified of a change to a corresponding element.
This provides greater control over reused requirements and allows project-specific adjustments without sacrificing the benefits of requirements reuse.
Azure DevOps: Now Supports Attachment Synchronization
The integration between reqSuite® rm and Azure DevOps now also supports file attachment synchronization.
This allows supporting documents and files to be exchanged between both systems along with their associated information.
It reduces manual file transfers and makes collaboration between requirements engineering and development teams easier.
Larger File Attachments Without the 25 MB Limit
With version 4.9, the existing 25 MB file size limit can be disabled for an entire tenant.
This allows larger documents and files to be uploaded directly to reqSuite® rm without having to rely on external storage locations.
Note: Removing the file size limit requires individual activation. Please contact your OSSENO representative to enable this option.
REST API: Extended ReqIF Capabilities for Automated Data Exchange
The advanced ReqIF features introduced in version 4.8 are now also available through the REST API.
This provides greater control over automated import and export processes:
- Customized exports: Precisely define which information should be included in an export.
- Flexible imports: Use mapping capabilities to assign imported information to existing categories and attributes.
This reduces manual rework and enables more flexible, automated requirements exchange with other systems.
Note: Transition to the New ReqIF Export Options
With the next release 4.10, the existing ReqIF export options Standard (deprecated) and Advanced (deprecated) will be disabled.
The new options Standard (new) and Advanced (new) are already fully available. They provide the same export capabilities and content as the previous versions, while also allowing users to customize which information is included in an export.
We therefore recommend switching existing export processes to the new options ahead of time. The previous options will remain available until the next release. We will provide a separate announcement before they are permanently disabled.
Conclusion: Greater Flexibility and Less Manual Effort
With reqSuite® rm 4.9, existing features have been further enhanced. Users benefit from greater control over changes to reused requirements, easier collaboration across different systems, and expanded options for automating data exchange.
The result: Less manual work, more flexible processes, and even more efficient requirements management.
